Dr Houshang Nosrati was born in 1967 in Tabriz. He obtained hid B.Sc. degree in Plant Science from the University of Tabriz in 1990 and M.Sc. degree in Plant Science-Systematics-Ecology from The University of Tehran in 1994, and Ph.D. degree in Plant Sciences-Biosystematics & Molecular Taxonomy from The University of Aberdeen (Scotland, United Kingdom) in 2006. He was employed as faculty member at The Department of Plant Sciences in University of Tabriz in 1995 and still is continuing his work as associated professor of Biosystematics & Molecular Taxonomy at this Department. Up till now, he has taught many courses in B.Sc., M.Sc., and Ph.D. levels and supervised over 51 M.Sc. and Ph.D. theses. He has also published over 28 papers in the international journals and presented over 12 articles in national and international symposiums. His major research interests are Plant Molecular Systematics, Plant Population Genetic Stuructures and Florestic- Phytosociological Studies.
