Whilst undertaking my Master’s degree in Ecology at Razi University (Iran), I developed a keen interest in the use of diatoms and soft algae for their use in biomonitoring. Therefore, I conducted my Masters project on ecology and taxonomy of algae. I completed the research component of Master’s degree 2006. I got full PhD scholarship from Australian Government in 2011. Then, I moved to Australia. I completed my PhD in Ecology and Environmental Science at Federation University Australia in 2017. I also achieved a scholarship to attend in Iowa Lakeside Laboratory at the University of Iowa (USA). Before moving back to Iran, I worked as a researcher at the University of Melbourne and Central Highlands Water in Australia. Currently, I am working at University of Tabriz where I am responsible for teaching, training as well as research. I have published 2 books (in English), over 30 peer-reviewed papers in international journals and 40 conference papers in national and international conferences. My research interests are related to ecology and taxonomy of algae, use of algae as indicator in aquatic ecosystem, water quality biomonitoring, eco-hydrology and water resource management. |
