Gholamreza Dehghan is a professor working in Department of Biology, Faculty of Natural Sciences, University of Tabriz. He received his BS (1998) from University of Tabriz in biology and his MS (2001) and PhD (2007) from IBB, University of Tehran, IR, in biochemistry, under supervision of Prof. Abbas Shafiee. He is currently the Deputy of Finance and Human Resources of East Ezarbayjan Science and Technology Park, and former Faculty vice Dean for Education and president of the Faculty of Natural Sciences, University of Tabriz (from 2014 to 2019). His primary research interests include preparation, characterization and applications of nanostructured materials as artificial enzymes (nanozymes) and biosensors. He is also working on natural enzymes (structural and kinetic studies), biosensors and bio-analysis, oxidative stress and natural antioxidants, interaction between biomolecules (proteins and DNA) with drugs and natural compounds and so on. Professor Dehghan has been one of the scientists in establishing the MSc and PhD programs in Biochemistry in Tabriz University. He has thus far graduated numerous PhD, MSc students; he has also supervised postdoctoral researchers from domestic PhD graduates. He published more than 140 scientific articles in peer reviewed international journals. He is a member of Iranian Biochemical Society, Iranian Biological society and Iranian Society of Toxicology. |
