Ali Kadkhodaie received his BSc in geology from University of Tabriz (1997-2001). He received his MSc and PhD degrees (2001-2009) in Petroleum Geology from the University of Tehran. Ali visited University of Sydney, Australia, for 6 months in 2007 (Oct-March) for completing his PhD thesis under supervision of Prof. Peter Hatherly. From 2015 to 2017 Ali joined the Department of Petroleum Engineering at Curtin University of Australia as a Research Associate. Ali is currently as associate professor of Petroleum Geology with the Earth Sciences Department of University of Tabriz. His research has mainly focused on the application of artificial intelligence and machine learning techniques in the fusion of reservoir rock properties, petrophysics and seismic reservoir characterization. To date, Ali has published more than 100 scientific papers in international journals. He has supervised more than 200 masters and Ph.D. students in the upstream sector of the petroleum industry.
